We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is given by inspiration of God and is inerrant and final and absolute in authority (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
We believe that God the Father is a spirit (John 4:24). He is eternal (Psalm 90:1-2), infinite (Acts 15: 18), and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth (Psalm 102:26-27; James 1:17). His Name is Father. He is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ and of all those who trust in Him (Ephesians 1:3-5).
We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26,27), that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Romans 5:12). All human beings are born with a sinful nature (Romans 3:10; 3:23). When one reaches moral responsibility, he becomes accountable for his sin and unbelief (Revelation 20:11-15).
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This salvation is offered in virtue of Jesus’ redemptive work on the cross and is made available to all (1 Timothy 2:6; 2 Corinthians 5:15). Baptism, the Lord’s Supper, ceremonies, and human works cannot avail for salvation (Titus 3:5; John 14:6; 1 John 2:1,20). Christ alone saves.
We believe in the eternal salvation of the regenerate, that the moment one believes, he is given eternal life (John 3:16, 10:28, Romans 5:21), and is sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13, 14).
We believe that at the time of death, a person’s fate is then sealed: for the believer, a state of eternal bliss in the presence of the Lord (II Corinthians 5:8, Philippians 1:23); for the unbeliever, a state of conscious and endless suffering in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 14:1, 20:15, 21:8).
We believe that water baptism and communion are two meaningful expressions of faith in Christ. Neither is necessary for salvation (Ephesians 2:8, 9) or the impartation of God’s blessings (Colossians 2:10), but each is symbolic of the work of Christ toward all who have believed the Gospel (I Corinthians 1:13-17, 11:26).
